I am a veteran teacher and a lifelong learner passionate about helping high school students find meaningful connections within the social studies. My students find relevance in studying the past because I consistently show them that they are living history every single day. I encourage students to question and to dig deeply when they are fascinated by a topic.
I am here to enrich your students education, and to ensure that your investment in their future is well-spent. With 2 decades of teaching experience, and 10 years of curriculum design experience, I can deliver a rigorous, engaging, thought-provoking class. My passion is evident to my students who know I am there to support them regardless of their strengths or learning differences. My classroom is a welcoming space for all, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. I honor the human rights of all individuals.
I have a BA in History, Political Science and Secondary Education, and a MA in American Studies. As a mom to two "twice exceptional" young adults, I'm also well-versed in accommodating learning differences and guiding students to develop their passions.
